Dean of Adult Education - Full-time
Responsibilities:
- Establishes and supervises adult education programs;
- Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures;
- Develops and/or assists with the development of procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program;
- Maintains knowledge of assigned program and gives updates to management on services, operations, and projects;
- Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information;
- Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and makes adjustments as needed;
- Maintains up-to-date policies and procedures of state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives;
- Supervises the development and implementation of instructional services, including student intake and assessment, curriculum implementation, and student education plans;
- Promotes the adult education program to public and private organizations; organizes advisory committees as needed;
- Reviews all requests for curriculum materials for the program;
- Oversees the maintenance of student records and the student data information system.
- Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education
- Knowledge of trends in Adult Education
- Knowledge of GED/HiSET test components, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the Career Plus High School Diploma Program
- Knowledge of program assessment, strategic planning strategies and management principles
- Knowledge of local demographics, regional issues, and the social culture of the community
- Oral and written communication skills
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- Master's degree *and* Three (3) years of related work experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in adult education, including overseeing instructional staff and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
