Paramedicine Program Technical Instructor - Full-time
Columbus Technical College is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as a full-time Instructor in the EMS and Paramedicine programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, as well as evaluating student progress toward established goals and objectives. This role also requires ensuring all safety and security standards are met during training sessions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining program accreditation requirements, preparing and managing required documentation and administrative reports, participating in advisory committee meetings, and completing mandatory professional development. This position is full-time/exempt.
Responsibilities:
- Teach EMS courses utilizing diverse instructional modalities
- Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives in accordance with state standards
- Assess students’ progress toward learning outcomes
- Request, manage, and maintain program supplies and equipment
- Develop instructional methods and maintain appropriate management procedures and documentation
- Meet with students, colleagues, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and address any issues affecting student progress
- Ensure compliance with safety and security requirements in all training areas
- Respond promptly to administrative inquiries
- Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives
- Maintain program accreditation and compliance documentation as required
- Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats
- Exhibit strong observation, supervision, and evaluation skills
- Use general computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Participate in professional activities and organizations
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Must be currently licensed in Georgia as a Paramedic OR a/an RN, RRT, NP, PA, or MD/DO
- Must be currently licensed in Georgia as an Instructor/Coordinator (Paramedic)
- Must have an associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited higher education institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or be actively working towards earning their associate degree in any major.
- Must have current NREMT certification
- Must have current CPR and ACLS certifications
- Must have completed all Teaching Internships for EMS Instructor/Coordinator requirements
- Must have completed an approved EMS Instructional Preparation Curriculum Prep Course within the previous three (3) years
- Postsecondary Teaching experience
- Currently licensed in Georgia as an Instructor/Coordinator (Paramedic)
