Columbus Technical is looking for an individual to fill the position of Part-time Adjunct Instructor for our Commercial Driver's License Prep Course (Non-Credit) in the Economic Development Department. This person will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance focused on preparing for the written portion of the CDL exam to include functional knowledge of CDL requirements, traffic laws, safety regulations, and other essential topics. Other duties include lesson planning, obtaining appropriate training materials and equipment. This position is part-time/non-exempt. This position requires ability to work flexible hours.
Responsibilities:
Prepare lesson plans and class schedule
Select and obtain appropriate educational materials, equipment and supplies
Monitor use of and maintain supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned program
Assist with recruiting and marketing activities
Assist with registration and orientation functions
Sustain partnership with companies
Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operate effectively within the program structure; demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior
Computer Skills
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
A valid commercial driver's license, Class A
Minimum of three (3) years recent full-time commercial truck driving work experience
Clean MVR driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching/training experience
Associates degree from an accredited college or university
Third Party Examiner
